Come Show Your Support For Chandler's Flag

If you feel strongly about seeing Chandler O’Leary’s flag (Chandler’s Flag) become the new flag for the City of Tacoma, join us at the Tacoma City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, at 5:00 PM to give public comment. Council will be discussing the creation of a Flag Committee to decide the direction of a possible new flag for Tacoma. We want to make sure that Council members are aware that many community members have already voiced interest in Chandler’s flag becoming the official city flag.

Chandler designed the flag in 2012 as part of an exhibit to propose a new flag for the City of Tacoma. Since then, there have been ongoing conversations calling for it to become official. There have also been several petitions and other grassroots efforts to make it our City’s flag, including Beautiful Angle highlighting the design by producing a print of it. 

A decision will be made soon, and now is the time for folks to speak up. Let Council know how beautifully and thoughtfully Chandler’s flag represents Tacoma and that it should be the official city flag.
